At ROK Tree Care, we pride ourselves on tackling even the most challenging environments, and this recent project in Cork City was a prime example.
Our team was tasked with clearing heavy vegetation from a steep embankment adjacent to a residential area and overlooking part of the city. The gradient of the slope was so extreme that no machinery could safely operate on it, nor could heavy equipment access the site at all. As a result, the entire job had to be completed manually.

Rope-Access Vegetation Removal
To ensure the safety of our team while working on such a demanding incline, all operatives were secured using harnesses and ropes anchored at the top of the embankment. This rope-access method allowed us to carry out the work safely and effectively, with team members using power tools while suspended or working on foot, always securely tied in.

The clearance was physically demanding and required careful coordination, but our experienced crew rose to the challenge. By the end of the job, the bank had been fully stripped of overgrown vegetation, improving both the safety and the visual impact of the area.
Why It Matters
Vegetation like this can quickly become overgrown on inaccessible slopes, leading to issues with sightlines, potential fire hazards, or encroachment on structures. Manual rope-access vegetation removal is a specialist service, and one that ROK Tree Care is fully equipped to deliver, even in the most demanding locations.
